Polaroid – polarised sunglasses

Polaroid’s premium lenses provide the highest possible level of polarisation, setting them apart from many other manufacturers of conventional polarised lenses.

7 functional layers

Polaroid polarised lenses are made of 7 functional elements that are very carefully combined to produce an optical product of the highest quality. The main element of this design is the polarising light filter in the centre. UV-absorbing layers are fixed on both sides of this filter. They block/absorb all harmful UVA, UVB and UVC ultraviolet rays. Optically correct, refractive elements are laminated on both sides of the UV absorbing layers, making the lenses light, flexible and impact resistant. Finally, a unique scratch-resistant coating is applied to both sides of the lenses.

Polaroid polarised lenses – very different from ordinary sunglasses

Ordinary sunglasses simply blur the view. Good quality polarised lenses improve vision.

Daylight spreads in all directions. When light is reflected from a horizontal surface – a road or water – it becomes highly polarised in a horizontal plane.

Vertical light is good for people’s eyes. It enables us to see colours and contrasts, while concentrated horizontal light simply creates optical noise or reflections that obstruct vision and often create very dangerous situations on the road.

Polaroid’s unique polarised lenses feature a vertically centred filter that blocks horizontally polarised light very effectively. Polarised lenses allow only useful vertical light into the eye, creating a glare-free image with natural colours and contrasts.
