Contact lens insertion
Try to put your contact lenses in your eyes without moving them around too much. Any plaque on the surface of the contact lens can cause vision discomfort.
Wash your hands
Use a soap that is free of oils and strong fragrances to avoid irritating your eyes.
Clean your hands with a cotton lint-free towel to prevent lint from getting on your contact lenses.
Wear contact lenses before applying cosmetic products.
Proper form
Before inserting the lens, check it for scratches or tears. If the contact lens is damaged, throw it away and take a new one.
After peeling off the protective film of the blister pack, pour the liquid with the lens into the palm of your hand or use your forefinger to carefully remove the lens from the pack. Never use tweezers or other objects to remove the lens from the blister pack as this may damage the contact lens.
Place the lens on your dry index finger and make sure the contact lens is the right shape (bowl) or find the numbers 123 by looking at the lens. Numbers 1-2-3 indicate that the lens is on the right side, if the lens is askew, turn it over and check the numbers again.
Contribution process
It is recommended to start in the same eye to avoid mixing contact lenses.
Place the contact lens on your index finger, gently pull the lower eyelid down with the middle finger of the same hand and pull the upper eyelid up with the middle finger of the other hand and place the contact lens at or below the centre of your eye.
When you feel the contact lens in your eye, the first thing to do is to lower your lower eyelid, turn your eye towards your nose, towards your temple and slowly close your eyes. When you open your eyes, assess your vision and well-being.
Blurry or hazy image when wearing a contact lens? Check that the lens is in the centre of the eye, if the position is correct, remove the contact lens and inspect the lens for dirt. Or the contact lens may be on the wrong eye or inserted the wrong way round.
Removing contact lenses
Contact lenses tend to dry out in less ventilated, dusty environments, so it’s recommended to apply a moisturising eye drop before removing them.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to insert a contact lens?
Varies, depending on your experience and skills. If you learn how to insert your contact lenses properly, it only takes a few seconds to put them in.
What if the contact lens I’m wearing falls off?
Take it out as soon as possible and rinse it thoroughly with a special contact lens solution. Wash your hands again and make sure the contact lens is not damaged before trying to insert it again.
Do I need to remove my contact lenses before or after cosmetic cleaning?
Remove contact lenses before wiping cosmetic products and insert them before using cosmetic products.
What if the lens sticks to my eye?
If the lens sticks to your eye, your eye care professional may prescribe a lubricating or moisturising solution. This way, you can moisten your contact lenses right in front of your eyes and feel much more comfortable. Simply add a few drops and wait until the contact lens starts to move freely in your eye.
What if the lens dries out?
If a contact lens is removed from the eye and left in the air for an extended period of time, its surface can dry and gradually become brittle. If this happens, discard the lens and use a new one.
