Are you nearsighted or farsighted? What is the difference between these disorders? If you don’t always see clearly, you may be nearsighted or farsighted. In this section we look at the symptoms and explain how these problems can be solved.
Toliaregia
If you are farsighted, you can see distant objects clearly, but you find it difficult or impossible to focus your gaze to see close objects. In particularly severe cases, it may be difficult to focus your gaze on objects at any distance. Farsightedness can interfere with a wide range of daily activities such as reading and writing.
Myopia
If you are short-sighted, you may find it difficult to see the objects below. Up close (a few centimetres or a few metres away) you can see clearly, but objects further away appear blurry. This can interfere with driving, going to the health club, exercising, or even trying to recognise people in the distance. Distant objects are blurred.
