To prevent the development of myopia

Myopia
An example is a patient with myopia who can see well up close but has poor vision in the distance.
  • Do not hang toys close to babies’ eyes.
  • Pupils must sit on benches suitable for their height in a well-lit area.
  • At home, it is best to prepare your lessons in front of a desk lamp placed on the left side (for right-handers). The lamp must be 60 watts, with a shade.
  • The distance from the book to your eyes is about 30-40 cm. It is best for your eyes if the book you are reading is placed on a special stand.
  • It is essential to take a break every half an hour when reading. During this time, you can do a few exercises: look at the ceiling, then at the floor, then at the sides, then alternate between looking out of the window at a point in the distance and at a point close by.
  • Do not read while lying down, including lying down, on the bus, at dusk.
  • The distance to the TV set should be at least 2.5-3 metres. If the diagonal of the screen is larger than normal, the distance should be larger.
  • The maximum amount of TV a child can watch per day is 1-1.5 hours. It is better to divide this time into three or four times.
  • After 15 minutes of computer play, you should take a break of at least 5 minutes.
  • The computer screen must be at least half a metre away from your eyes. The computer or TV screen must have its back to the window. It is preferable that the light falls from above and that the light source is not reflected by the screen.
  • For myopes, it is recommended not to lift heavily, make sudden movements, or engage in vigorous sports to prevent retinal detachment.
